| Johanna Linnea Jakobsson is a Danish-Swedish vocalist, saxophonist, and songwriter residing in Southern Sweden. She debuted on the Scandinavian jazz scene in 2022 with the album “Alone Together,” which blended traditional jazz and the singer-songwriter genre, featuring both original compositions and arrangements of classics. The album received positive reviews from critics across Europe and was named one of the best vocal albums of 2022 by the Japanese magazine Jazz Hihyo. In 2023, she released an EP of jazz standards and recorded the soundtrack for the Emmy Award-winning mini-series “One of The Boys.” Her second full-length album, “Don’t Overthink It,” produced by John Fernold and scheduled for release on October 31st, marks a new phase focusing exclusively on original compositions centered around her vocals. The album deliberately blurs the lines between the genres of jazz, folk, and pop. According to Jakobsson, the title “Don’t Overthink It” is ironic, as the songs reflect feelings of being lost and anxious in adulthood, but it serves as a mantra for her. The musical style is influenced by artists such as Norah Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Jeff Buckley, and The Beatles.
