The collaboration between composer and saxophonist Daniel Schnyder and cellist Christoph Croisé (also he composes himself) has been ten years. The resulting album contains two concerts commissioned by Croisé by Schnyder as well as numerous world premieres of his solo and chamber music works. Croisé shines in concert for cello, drums and string orchestra, while the two Swiss compatriots are in the spotlight together in the Concerto Populaire for soprano saxophone, cello, drums and string orchestra, both accompanied by members of the hand-picked Beyond Modern Orchestra, dedicated to creating and performing new music.
